Nairobi Azimio Leaders Caution Against Electoral Violence Ahead of August Poll


Azimio la Umoja leaders in Nairobi have called on politicians to conduct peaceful campaigns during this electioneering period.

All Sub-counties Chairpersons from both Jubilee and ODM on the other hand want the police to move with speed and arrest those perpetrating hate in Nairobi.

“We want to ask our police officers in Nairobi to be very vigilant with hate mongers. We shall not allow anyone to attack our leaders. They have been calling us names in political forums some even haul abuses to President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM boss Raila Odinga,” the statement reads.

They said they will have joint campaigns to popularize the movement in a strategy aimed at uniting the country ahead of the 2022 General Elections.


“We want to ask our competitors to desist from playing dirty politics, we shall move every part of this county to look for votes. Azimio basket is not yet full  and we are well prepared to ensure Raila Amollo Odinga gets 2  million votes  in Nairobi,” ODM chairman  Dagoreti North Moses Ogeto said.

“Kenya cannot afford another era of political violence where people are fighting against each other,” they said in a statement.

They were speaking after meeting in Charter Hall Nairobi County Assembly precincts.
