Nairobi Businessman To Hold Football Tournament To Give Back To The Community

A Nairobi businessman is planning to hold a football tournament in Umoja in a bid to preach peace and also give back to the society.

William Ngonga, the CEO of the Jeans Garage Kenya enterprise says that the tournament will feature 16 teams.

Speaking to Ghetto Radio, Ngonga says that the tournament dubbed Jeans Garage will be played from the 11th to 13th of December at Tumaini primary School in Umoja.

The tournament will feature teams from Kibra Dandora, Huruma, Umoja, Tena and South B.

“The tournament will feature 16 teams and it will be an 11 aside match . It is a knockout kind of tournament. If you are beaten you are out of the tournament,” he said.

According to Ngonga, proceeds from the football tournament will be distributed to children in children’s homes.

“I just want to give back to the society that raised me. This community has been very instrumental in my business. My business first started as one shop in Gikomba and quickly grew into an enterprise with several bracnhes in Umoja, Eastleigh, Kayole, Gikomba and Ngong Road,” he said.

Through the support of people from Umoja and Kayole he was able to grow his business and expand his shops even to Eastleigh and Ngong road.

The football tournament will give the participants a chance to walk away with Ksh. 50,000 if they emerge winners.

The 1st runners up will get Ksh. 35,000 , 2nd runners-up  15,000 and  3rd runners up will walk away with Ksh.10,000.

The tournament is not only meant to  give back to the community through football but also help bring people together ahead of the election period.
