Nairobi County Assembly is accusing Office of Controller of Budget for what it terms as being a stumbling block for their quest to acquire the ward development funds.
According to Nairobi county clerk Jacob Ngwele controller of budget has been rejecting laws passed by the assembly legalizing the funds making it difficult for payments to be made for jobs done.
As we speak half a billion shillings for projects done by MCA through ward development funds in 85 wards are not yet payed.
Meanwhile the controller of budget has released another recommendation requesting go ahead from the treasury or the senate before they could regularise the funds.
The funds committee chairperson Partricia Mutheu Musyimi says they will ensure that the funds are released promptly to facilitate ward projects.
