Nairobi county Assembly Women caucus now wants quick police response on kidnapping cases being witnessed in the city before more people suffer.
Briefing the media the caucus chairperson Doris Kanario Ngoyo says the kidnappings and gender based violence cases are also on the rise and something needs to be done before more families are devastated.
“The news about Citizens being kidnapped and disappearing is on the rise and the trend is affecting social economic status of people as mental health of the victims,” she said.
Same were echoed by Mary Arivitza who called on the police to be on high alert to help nab the perpetrators.
“We shall not sit down and see how children are being kidnapped and killed …its high time the authority stepped up and handled this issue.. we are unsafe including our children,” she added.
Kasarani OCPD Peter Mwanza says they are currently handling three cases of kidnappings.
“Yes we agree these cases are on the rise and we are encouraging members of the public to be very vigilant as we also do our part…we are still pursuing the three cases,” he added.
