Nairobi County Boss Ann Kananu Hands Over Contracts of Transferred Functions To NMS
By Allan Otieno
Nairobi County Government has handed over all contracts of the transferred functions to Nairobi Metropolitan Services in a move aimed at ensuring that contractors are paid in time.
According to Acting Nairobi Governor Ann Kananu the pending bills and contracts are valid and that the NMS should now ensure the contractual obligations are honoured for smooth service delivery.
‘‘We have handed over contracts files and pending bill documents and we want to pursue this matter as whole government and for 2018/2019 financial year we have shillings 1.3 audited.” She said.
NMS boss while receiving the files said they will renew those whose time had elapsed so that they continue giving services.
‘‘We had a problem with these contracts because the county never handed them officially to NMS. We shall now ensure they are paid in time,” Badi added.
The function was also attended by Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Benson Mutura.
