Nairobi County denies involvement in Accra Road Public Toilet Chaos

Nairobi city county government has denied being involved in yesterday’s fracas that saw youths roughing up public toilet operators  along  Acrra road and even seizing  it.

Environment executive member Larry Wambu described yesterday’s chaos caused by rowdy youth as an insecurity matter that needed action from the police.

‘‘We have given them  licence  to run those toilets anything happening beyond that we are not aware and we are not involved let the police handle it.’’ Wambua said.

He also intimated to Ghetto Radio News that the county government is in the process of getting   a new contractor  who will manage  the toilets for the public to use them for fee.

‘‘Soon we hiring  a contractor who will clean these toilets and manage them so that we can end this fight by the cartels over public toilets,’’ He adds.

Meanwhile public  toilets association chairman Tom Makale and his associate Sammy Karanja have accused the county  for not honouring  owners leases .

Tom says the goons who battle them   have been invoking  governor Sonkos’ name in the chaos and sometimes the  battle ends up without any arrest by the police.

Sammy Karanja who is the owner of the one which has been overtaken along Accra road says the move to have them out by the county government is well orchestrated and is being oiled by top politicians in Nairobi.
