Nairobi County employee has pleaded guilty to the offense of soliciting bribe from a businessman  to assist him in obtaining a re-innovation permit.

Albert Mbarani Mihadi ,who was arrested by EACC detectives admitted before Chief appeared before the Anti-Corruption court’s Senior Principal Magistrate Eunice Nyutu, where he pleaded guilty in all six counts charges leveled against him.

According to the prosecution,on the 20th day f July 2020, Albert approached businessman Khilan Shah and requested a total of ksh 95000 bribe to assist him in obtaining a re-innovation permit from defunct Nairobi Metropolitan Service.

He was charged with impersonating persons employed in public service, where he falsely presented himself as Nairobi County security enforcement officer.

The court documents averred that the accused, purportedly inspected compliance certificate for the same re-innovation permit.

Only took plea as his two co-accused were not present in court to take plea.

The offense was committed in Spring Valley area in Westlands Sub-county,Nairobi.

After admitting to the five graft charges, the prosecution sought more time to enable them to avail the exhibits and previous records of the accused person before he was sentenced.

Magistrate Nyutu granted the prosecution time to present the exhibits in the case before she sentences the officer.
