Nairobi County Majority Leader Abdi Guyo Loses 4 Family Members in Road Accident


Nairobi County Assembly Majority Leader Abdi Hassan Guyo is mourning four members of his immediate family who perished in a grisly road accident that occurred along Meru-Isiolo Highway.

Those who lost lives are Guyo’s brother Hasaan Ibrahim aged 39 years, wife to Ibrahim and his two daughters aged 14 and 4 respectively.

According to a police report the four were travelling in a Toyota Sienta and the right tyre developed a defect before ramming into the roadside fence.

“Reporting self-involved fatal injuries road traffic accident which occurred today the 28/3/2022 at around 6:30pm along Meru Isiolo road at Maili Saba happened that one Hassan Ibrahim c/o Isiolo was driving motor vehicle reg.KCP 673R make Toyota Sienta from Nairobi to Isiolo, and on reaching at the location of the accident, the motor vehicle developed right tyre defect, made him loose control and went right off road and rammed into the fence. As a result of accident, the following died on the spot (1) Hassan Ibrahim Borana m/a aged 43yrs driver (2)Fatuma Hassan Borana f/a aged 39 yrs passenger (3)Talasso Hassan Borana juvenile aged 14 yrs passenger(4)Jamila Hassan juvenile aged 10 yrs,” the police report reads in part.


Meanwhile the police have launched investigations into the accident as the bodies await to undergo autopsy at the Isiolo Referral Hospital.

“They are currently preserved at the Isiolo Referral Hospital M awaiting autopsy. Motor vehicle towed to station awaiting inspection. Cause code 79 P.U.I,case PUI,’’ the report reads.

Last week Guyo who also doubles up as Matopeni MCA announced that he was vying for the Isiolo Governor position in the upcoming General Election. Incumbent Governor Mohamed Kuti has already dropped out of the race and endorsed him as his preferred successor.

I will be going for the Isiolo governorship post. I have what it takes to take our county to the next level,Guyo said.
