BetNare has identified grounds in Kibera, Kangemi and Dandora estates in the pilot program that will be extended to Western Kenya later in the year.
The betting company which is already working with the Boxing Federation to market the sport said the laying of Astro turf in the estate grounds will help in talent development.
“In a bid to enhance grassroots football and foster talent development across the nation, BetNare proudly announces its commitment to installing Astro turf fields in areas lacking proper football facilities. This initiative aims to provide aspiring young footballers with adequate playing surfaces to hone their skills and realize their full potential, ultimately contributing to the nation’s preparation for AFCON 2027.” Reads BetNare’s statement in part.
Working Hand in hand with FKF to Nurture Upcoming Talents
The company said it will work closely with the Football Kenya Federation and the ministry of sports in the build up to the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations which will be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania to ensure there are quality training and playing surfaces for young upcoming talent.
“We appreciate there is talent in Kenya and especially in the estates we are targeting to lay the turf, but this talent can only be nurtured well if we have quality playing surfaces and training and playing equipment. As BetNare we are ready to help in supporting the growth of this talent,” the company said.
The announcement was made during the presentation of prizes for winning pundits who placed correct bets on the BetNare platform.
Alex Morgan Osundwa was presented with a Sh 1 million cheque while Kennedy Mwura won a 75 inch television.
