Nairobi governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has extended his helping hand to Lang’ata residents after he donated food to the vulnerable in the area.
The governor visited the area on Tuesday and donated flour, cooking oil, rice and sanitizers to help the residents boost themselves during this Covid-19 period.
According to South C youth leader Nathan Nzomo, the donations were well received by residents adding that not all those living in Lang’ata sub-county are capable of taking care of themselves during this pandemic.
He further urged the political class to stop victimizing Sonko for helping those who have been hit by the Coronavirus pandemic, saying politicizing charity initiatives by the governor is uncalled for.
‘‘What the governor is doing is charity to Nairobians and helping people with the little he has, spicing politics with the same is not good… we should help him in reaching out to the vulnerable.’’ Nzomo said.
According to Sonko they are targeting all 17 sub-counties and so far they have given donations to about 7 sub counties.
