Nairobi Governor Seat Is for Not Scandalous Leaders, Kananu Tells Competitors


Nairobi governor Ann Kananu has now called on aspirants in Nairobi gubernatorial race and have been mentioned scandals to quit.

According to Kananu Nairobi governor seat comes with a huge responsibility and those aspirants with integrity issues should be tamed as early as now.

She has called on president Uhuru Kenyatta and Azimio captain Raila Odinga not to issue nomination certificate to scandalous candidates.

‘‘They have problems that requires our full attention like what  we have done today in Dagoreti ,so it does not require sideshows and disrespect of other  leaders  that we have been witnessing…they are even buying people to heckle and abuse leaders. We want to ask those leaders who have integrity  or who have been mention in scandal to step aside from the gubernatorial race,’’ She stated.

‘‘We want to ask president Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM boss Raila Odinga that we don’t want leaders with scandals and integrity issues… Nairobi seats comes with a huge responsibility and you will be leading people with a lot of problems,” Kananu said.

Speaking in Riruta ward in Dagoretti South, the Governor announced her intention to defend her seat on a Jubilee ticket under the Azimio la Umoja coalition, saying she has projects to complete.

“We have unfinished business. We have to complete the development projects we started and continue improving the lives of Nairobi residents,” she said.

Consoling fire victims at Kabiria area, Kananu said her disaster management plan, once fully implemented will mitigate the fire disasters that occur in Nairobi.

“As you know, the plan involves construction of new fire stations in all the 17 sub-counties in Nairobi,” she added.
