Nairobi Hospital ordered to produce Sonko in Court
The Anti-corruption court has the Nairobi Hospital and the EACC to produce former Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko in court on Thursday.
This is after the former governor failed to a ppear in court today for the hearing of his case.
Justice Peter Ooko ordered EACC and the prosecution to secure Sonko’s attendance to court on Thursday for his Ksh. 14 Million corruption case.
Sonko was admitted at the Nairobi Hospital last month after complaining of being ill.
Last week his lawyers told the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit that Sonko needed to travel to South Africa for a hip replacement surgery.
ATPU deputy OCS Ezekiel Lulei told the court that they could not produce Sonko as there exists an order from Kahawa law courts barring them from interrogating him from hospital.
Dr Khaminwa and Mr Nyamu applied for a 6-day adjournment of the Sh14 million graft case to enable them acquire files from Sonko’s former lawyers Cecil Miller and George Kithi.
