Nairobi Parents Blamed For Shielding Their Criminal Children

Parents and relatives of suspected thugs in Kasabuni slums in Ruaraka constituency are on the spot for protecting their children reportedly reigning terror on the area residents.

Area residents claim that this month alone around four people have been stabbed and are in a comma.

In an exclusive interview with Ghetto radio News ,Antony Juma  alias Atondy a  reformist in the area has blamed parents for protecting  those committing crime saying most of the alleged criminals were born in Kasabuni and grew up in the area making it  difficult to weed them out.

‘‘It’s difficult to finish crime in this area, parents and relatives of these gangs are very defensive and whenever you try to tip the authority you are haunted in return…the police are also being used to arrest innocent individuals…they must also stop phone arrests and do their own investigation to bring sanity in Kasabuni.’’ Atondy said.

The gang is operating mainly in Kasabuni, Korogocho and sometimes Lucky Summer.

Babadogo ward has only one police station .. Ruaraka Police station  which serves Laundry,Grogon,Gomongo,Korogocho,Lucky Summer,Kariadudu and Kasabuni.

Meanwhile former Babadogo ward MCA  Sheddy Juma who also grew up in Kasabuni has asked those involving themselves in crime because of unemployment to stop the excuse and embrace any job.

According to Sheddy many  youths in Kasabuni  fear hard jobs  and whenever you engage them on  search they don’t come out.

‘‘They must stop choosing jobs , at the end  of the day what is required first empowerment and that cant happen when they are special and choosy.’’Sheddy said.
