Nameless Attacks Octopizzo After He Dissed Wahu
The Bingwa Awards that went down on Friday Night has sparked controversy between Kibera’s finest rapper,Octopizzo and the Mathenge’s (Nameless and Wahu) after Namba Nane rejected the “comeback” award awarded to him. Adding insult to the wound,Octopizzo further suggested that the award should be given to Wahu who was in the same category.
“This award is not mine! I don’t deserve it at all! Is Wahu here? This award belongs to her. It should have been given to her. I haven’t really been out of music. I have been doing music tours across the world and releasing new music. So, I don’t know why I have been given this one. If you see Wahu, tell her to come and collect it from me,”Octopizzo stated holding the award at the podium before taking to his Instagram account to explain why he rejected the award in details.
“Thanks for #BingwaAwards for the Award last Night, unfortunately I won’t take the award of “ComeBack Artist Of The Year” I never went anywhere,I’ve been here since my 1st hit single OnTop,I put in more work than any artist of my Genre ,unless you are awarding me for coming back from my Europe tour then it doesn’t make sense…. if you don’t mind plizz give my award to Wahu who was in the same category.” He wrote.
This did not boil well with Wahu’s Nameless as he went head on with the rapper for disrespecting the wife and being too proud.
“Haiya…@wahukagwi ebu check this guy out. He says he is too big to receive this award! He even recommended that it be given to you!! Bro, let me give you advice….Appreciate and receive these awards that you win now, because there can come a time in your career that you don’t even get noticed or nominated. But I am sure you too big to receive advice , ama? Lakini seriously, you belittle the award then you recommend it to be given to Wahu?? Tuheshimiane… humble yourself before life humbles you.”
Nameless’ sentiments were then echoed by Wahu am when she argued out that Octopizzo could have rejected the award without dragging her name in it. She advised him to be respectful and careful next time.
“If Octopizzo had issues about the category he had been nominated in, he should have sought a way to solve that with the organisers, away from the public glare. It was very disrespectful for him to then drag me into his unprofessional actions. So there is no way I am going to pick the award from him. It’s his and he should be thankful for it. My husband, Nameless, who has won numerous awards including MAMA, was humble and thankful enough when he won the same award last year. So who is Octopizzo to trash a young event which is trying to appreciate our music talents? I wish him well though, but in future he should be careful not to act the way he did,” Mama Tumiso told a local media tabloid.
All this said, there is no bad blood between the two sides as everything was settled down in two different media interviews.
