Wario disbands National Olympics Committee (NOCK) Over Mismanagement of Team Kenya
Sports Arts and Culture CS Dr. Hassan Wario Thursday disbanded the National Olympic Committee-Kenya (NOCK) and transferred the responsibilities to Sports Kenya.
“As the interim custodian,Sports Kenya will ensure the adoption of the new Constitution as well as set a very clear election calendar for NOCK”. He announced.
Wario has faced tough times with him allegedly being interrogated at Directorate of Criminal Investigations (reports he denied) over mismanagement of Team Kenya in the just concluded 2016 Rio Olympic games in Rio Di Janeiro.
Wario also announced the constitution of a probe committee to carry out independent inquiries and present a report by September 30.
“This is in addition to my written request earlier in the week to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations Department to undertake thorough investigations on matters related to this”.
Putting on notice bodies heading cycling swimming hockey and basketball Wario warned federations of pulling down sports by contravening and violating privileges in the Sports Act.
“Kenya is never shot of talent but we seem to be shot of good managers.This is a chance for you to put your house in order.If you to realize that there is an act governing sports which if you don’t comply with it’s upto you”.
Wario on Thursday found himself on the spot as Kenyan took to twitter branding the Rio games as one of the “worst ever” with a hashtag “#WarioMustGO” trending through out the day.
