Women Enterprise Fund has launched an individual loan amongst women to break the group monotony that has been there more than a decade.
According to Women Enterprise Fund chief executive officer Charles Mwirigi the move will steer women growth by expanding individual capability.
The organization has also boosted group lending from Ksh. 750,000 per group to Ksh. 1 million.
‘‘We have an asset finance loan for the first time in our history just to boost capable women. We have also increased group loans from seven hundred and fifty thousand shillings to 1 million this year,’’ Mwirigi said.
Meanwhile the enterprise has seen 20.5 billion shillings disbursed to women since 2007 with Nairobi county getting the lion share.
‘‘We have come from far but I must thank women because since 2007 they have taken Ksh 20.5 Billion and out of that Nairobi county received Ksh. 1.05 Billion.. It means demand in Nairobi is very high and we want to encourage women to continue coming for the funds.’’ He added.
