Ngilu On The Spot Over Alleged Incitement Remarks
Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu is on the spot for allegedly inciting residents of Kitui against Somali herders who have invaded the area.
In an audio clip doing rounds social media, Ngilu is heard telling Mutha residents in Kitui county that she will give them money to enable them deal with the herders.
The governor is further heard saying that the herders should not think that their guns are more powerful than the bows and arrows the Kambas have.
“I will call all our young men from Mutha, to come i train them on how to use bows and arrows, they will also come i train them how to use a gun so that we do away with these people,” said Ngilu.
Hundreds of Kitui residents have been forced to flee their homes after herders from neighbouring counties invaded their homes in search of pasture for their animals.
Early this month, one was reportedly shot dead and another one beheaded by the herders who have invaded their lands.
A section of Kenyans are now calling for the arrest of Ngilu whom they are accusing of inciting the residents against the Somali herders.
