Nick Okoth Receives Massive Support From Kenyans After Emotional Interview

Kenyan Olympic Boxer Nick Okoth has received tremendous support from Kenyans after being eliminated in the first round of the 2021 Tokyo Games.

Sergeant Okoth of the Kenya Defense Forces narrowly lost out to Mongolian Erdenebat Tsendbaatar via split decision 3:2.

In an emotional press briefing after the fight dejected Okoth felt that he gave out his best but felt that he lost out to the Cambodian boxer unfairly.

“I did all I can in the fight after studying my opponent and I knew his game plan which was always rushing to beat up his opponents despite being down in round one I recovered in the subsequent rounds and I was confident of winning the fight,” he lamented.

“Despite being on top they gave the victory to the Mongolian and as I say it wasn’t my day,’. He decried.

The 39 year old boxer asked Kenyans for forgives in Sheng as he felt that he had let the country down.

However Kenyans reaction on Okoth’s loss and his reaction was positive towards the boxer.

“Nasema sio makosa ya boxer ni hali ya game hata najua opponent wangu alijua nilikuwa nimeshinda na vile nimekua nikiomba nikisema game yangu ya mwisho ya Olympic na hivyo ndio wameamua,naomba wakenya msamaha lakini ni moto nime washa, kwa ma fan nawaomba msamaha haikuwa iwe hivyo,” he concluded tearfully.
