Fans have shared condolences on social media remembering how he played a big part in growing the Nollywood industry.
Mr Ibu has been in and out of hospital over sickness.in 2023 he was hospitalized and even had one of his legs amputated due to a long battle with blood clotting.a statement from his family said that he was amputated to save his life.
“The first amputation didn’t completely correct his health predicament, so the doctors had to go ahead to amputate the same leg further to ensure we didn’t lose him,”a family statement read.
At the time the family called upon Nigerians to support Ibu and stop spreading romours about his health.
Previously, Mr Ibu had made alarming allegations of being targeted by enemies within his community.in 2019 he claimed that his domestic workers were bribed to poison him for the third time.
