A tussle over a prime piece of land in Ngara’s Riverside area is brewing between the Nairobi Metropolitan Services and a Private developer.

NMS had reportedly reclaimed the land from a group of youths that was using it for their carwash service and parking to build public toilets.

The private developer claiming to own the piece of land then showed up with a court order to stop the construction.

A source who spoke to Ghetto Radio News stated that NMS has however continued with its construction despite the court order.

The construction of the toilets is however ongoing under the heavy guard of police officer.

“The court order was obtained on the 16th of this month, asking NMS to stop the construction of the toilets,” said the source.

“The private developer came with goons who attempted to demolish the toilets but they were repelled by police officers,” he stated.

He says the tag of war between NMS and the private developer is hurting their car wash business.

He is appealing to the private developer to seek an amicable way to end the stalemate with NMS since the toilets will be of benefit to the public.
