NTSA issues stern warning to drivers ahead of Christmas

National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) will revoke driver’s license and lawfully charge drivers found over speeding during this festive season.

Addressing the media NTSA Director General License Francis Meja cautioned drivers who do not observe speed guards and lane discipline to follow PSV regulations and help lower the rate of fatalities.

Meja urged passengers to plan their journey early enough in order to avoid night travels because it is less safe compared to daytime.

He also notes that they engaged PSV operators in order to get their by-in in the proposal for psv regulations and negotiate on rules that they can abide by.

Mbukinya Sacco Chairman Paul Mburu says operators are requesting for a system that can automatically detect when a driver over speeds thus one will not get away with their mistakes through bribery.
