The Kenya National Union of Nurses has issued a seven day strike ultimatum to the government.
The Union’s Deputy Secretary General Maurice Opeto says this follows failure by the government to implement the return to work formula they signed last year after they called off last year’s six months long strike.
Opetu says that if the conditions are not met within the specified time the national advisory committee will meet and deliberate on the next available cause of action.
The union has also said they are in support of the Kenyatta National Hospital Nurses who are striking demanding that the hospital board to allows them to join KNUN after one of them was attacked and injured by a patient’s relative.
Opetu says they will not relent until there nurses are given what they are demanding for.
