A mega anti-LGBTQ demonstration took place Nairobi city center after the Friday 1pm (Dhuhur) Muslim prayers.

Hundreds Muslims leaders ,conservative Christians and lobby organizations participated in the demonstration.

They strongly opposed the Tuesday’s Supreme Court decision that gave a green light that the lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgender and queers and intersex (LGBTQ) community to associate.

In its controversial decision, the apex court upheld the right of the National Gay and Lesbian Rights Commission to register as a nongovernmental organization (NGO).

In Nairobi, the anti-LGBTQ movement said they have been receiving threats from the NGOs that support gay rights in the country.

During the demontration, Nyali member of parliament Mohamed Ali said that  Kenya should not blackmailed to adopt ant-isocial practices for foreign aid.

He lawmaker maintained that both Islamic and Christian doctrines does not allow homosexuality and that the members should lynched.

The clerics side led by All saint Cathedral Evans Omollo also asked President William Ruto to “unequivocally denounce LGBTQ” like his Ugandan counterpart Yoweri Museveni.

He alleged that Ruto “appears to sit on the fence, fearing the wrath of the Western nations”.
