Nyong’o’s Four Opponents To Front One Candidate To Vie Against Him


FOUR Kisumu county governor aspirants have vowed to front one of them to face off Kisumu county governor Prof Anyang’ Nyong’o in the Gubernatorial race during the August 9 General Elections.

The Four George Onyango Oloo, former Speaker of the County Assembly of Kisumu, former Governor Jack Ranguma, Chief Administrative Secretary in the Ministry of  East African Community Ken Obura Mirenga and the current Kisumu County Senator Fred Outa have promised to support one them in the August polls.

While addressing the press at the Imperial Hotel after a consultative meeting , the four in a joint press statement read on their behalf by the Former Speaker of the County Assembly of Kisumu Onyango Oloo said vowed to send Nyong’o home in the forth coming elections.

Onyango said that their candidate who will face Nyong’o in the August polls will be known within the next two weeks, adding that they are prepared to wrestle the seat from the current Kisumu County Governor.


“Above all, we are very much ready to meet out political opponent in the ballot. We are going to appoint one of us to face the incumbent in the August polls,” they said.

They said that their candidate will be able to restore the lost glory of Kisumu and enable the people to do their businesses without any hindrance.

“We have agreed that we will form a new County Government in Kisumu,” they said.

They also noted with a lot of concerns the issue of voter apathy within Kisumu region and in Nyanza in general, adding that they are going to pull their resources and mobilize the people to register as voters ahead of the forthcoming general elections.

“As leaders within the County, we are going to a door to door voter mobilization exercise to ensure that all are registered as voters ahead of the August polls,” they said.
