FOUR, Kisumu county gubernatorial aspirants on Friday, endorsed Former Chief Administrative Secretary in the Ministry of East African Community Ken Obura as their preferred Kisumu county gubernatorial candidate for the ODM Primaries.
Ken Obura will face governor Anyang’ Nyong’o in Kisumu ODM gubernatorial primaries in April.
Kisumu Senator Fred Outa SAID the announcement follows a consensus reached between former governor Jack Ranguma, Former speaker Onyango Oloo, and himself.
“We have reached a consensus that should we feel shortchanged in the nominations then we will unleash another under Azimio who will square it out with Nyong’o on August 9,” said Outa.
The Four, have been campaigning together as they vowed to unseat Nyong’o with two candidates.
The team on Friday declared support for Obura to unseat Nyong’o.
While reading the resolutions on behalf of the team Outa said despite all the four having had desire to face Nyong’o, they resolved to only pick one candidate to increase the chances to unseat the incumbent.
“So many things happened in ODM’s 2017 primaries and that there are possibilities of repeat,” he added.
They said that the team has no any hatred to the governor of Kisumu though he has failed to fulfill his promises to the residents of Kisumu.
“The one will take the office this August for Kisumu gubernatorial position should mean the difference between success and a total failure,” read Outa.
The team concluded by stating that they are committed to endorse Raila Odinga as the 5th President of Kenya.
