ODM MCAs are sharply divided over Governor Mike Sonko’s impeachment drive with rival group led by Imara Daima MCA Kennedy Obuya opposing the move.
According to Obuya he does not see the need of them impeaching Sonko before president Uhuru and Raila Odinga give an official directive.
He says he will not append his signature on the impeachment motion to dethrone a legit government.
“Yes we had a meeting yesterday as ODM MCAs on the same but I can confirm that our chairman George Aladwa told us that we are at liberty to take any direction and am not for this impeachment.” Obuya said.
Minority Leader David Mberia and Minority whip Peter Imwatok maintains that ODM is in for the impeachment motion.
The signatures are being collected by Embakasi MCA Michael Ogada. The motion to remove Sonko will be tabled this week.
