Orange Democratic Party has now warned politicians and government operatives using police officers to settle political scores against their members saying the party will not take it lightly.
ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna says the arrest of Makongeni MCA Perter Imwatok who also doubles as Nairobi County Minority chief whip was pure politics and such should not be encouraged in a democratic society.
‘‘I want to condemn in the strongest terms the arrest of hon Imwatok, let people who were elected do their jobs.. if there is anyone who has a problem with any member of ODM they can bring those issues directly to the party.’’ He said.
Imwatok was released on a 200,000 cash bail yesterday after being arraigned in court where he was charged with two counts.
