The Secretary-General for the Orange Democratic Party Edwin Sifuna has reiterated that the party remains strongest in the Coastal region.
Sifuna says that the ODM party is strong especially in the Coastal region despite losing the by-elections in Msambweni in December 2020.
He has dismissed the move by some Coastal MPs to form a Coast political party ahead of the 2022 elections and termed the plan as a bad motive to the residents.
“We lost in Msambweni by-election but the party’s popularity is not measured in by-elections instead the support of the people,” said Sifuna.
Sifuna denied that ODM officials have harassed some of the Coastal politicians, including Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa and her Kilifi counterpart Owen Baya.
