ODM, Wiper At War Over New Leadership In Nairobi County Assembly

Wiper Democratic Party has protested the move by Orange Democratic Party to kick out  MCA  Patrick Musili as Deputy Minority leader at the Nairobi County Asssembly  in changes that ODM made recently.

According to Wiper Chairman Nairobi County Roy Kivusyu the move by ODM party violated NASA coalition agreement and that the position should be given back to the wiper party.

‘‘ODM Party must respect Wiper ,we can’t understand why  a single party can afford to share all the seven positions in the assembly and ignore Wiper and we are one coalition.. We are not begging, Kambas voted for Raila Odinga and we will  not allow ODM to bully us,’’ Kivusyu said.

Earlier today, a section of ODM  members also faulted their party for not following the process in removing members in the said positions. Nairobi West MCA Maurice Gari,Kennedy Obuya of Imara Daima,David Okello of Huruma and Francis Ngesa of Dandora IV  faulted the Party for not consulting them.

‘‘We were not given a voice, we have standing orders that guides us…. how can ODM Party give us new leaders without involving members? Its unacceptable and we shall fight to the end.’’ Ngesa said.

Meanwhile deputy Minority Whip Moses Ogeto has dismissed the claims saying thay the new leaders were appointed  by top Party organ chaired by party leader adding that  the decision was final and the disgruntled members should contest the same to the party not assembly speaker.

‘‘I want to tell those disgruntled  to address their concerns to the party not Speaker, these positions are privileges no one can purport to own them. And  as Deputy Whip I will ensure that party position and procedures are protected  and that’s what we stand for,’’ Ogeto told  Ghetto Radio News.

He further noted that he has not received any petition to  impeach Imwatok asking  ODM members  to shun personal feelings and political animosity against their whip hon Peter Imwatok.
