ODM Woman Who Lost In Party Primaries Pleads For Nomination Slot

ODM Women politicians who lost in nominations are now pleading with the party to consider them for other seats like nomination seats in the various parliamentary seats.

Roseline Ochieng an aspirant who was vying for the Embakasi Central Parliamentary seat but unfortunately lost because her area was zoned for Jubilee says that nomination would be a great reward to them for standing with the party.

Ochieng who has been vying since 2007 says that most of them have sunk into depression and even run into debts following their political aspirations.

“I am pleading with my party ODM, IEBC returned the list for rectification, my case is unique because I have vied several times and was leading in all the polls. I am pleading for the MCA nomination to help me settle the debts that I incurred when vying,” says Ochieng.

Ochieng says that she has used more than Ksh. 10 Million in her campaigns, money she acquired from a bank loan.

“It will not be enough but at least it will help me serve the people that I have wanted to serve for a long time ever since I wanted to vie,” she says.

ODM Women League President Beth Syengo stated that the party will walk with the women and even try to get them jobs in other sectors.

“It is important for these women to know that there will be very opportunities in Baba’s government. We shall even try to absorb some of them in the county governments because we don’t want anyone to leave the party,” said Syengo.
