High court has stopped the cremation of the late Kibra member of parliament Ken Okoth following an application by an alleged second wife Ann Muthoni Thumbi who want her son recognized officially before Ken is cremated.
Thumbi is suing on behalf of the son whom he claims she sired with the late honourable.
‘‘That the application is certified as urgent..That in the interim a temporary injunction be and hereby issued restraining the the 1st and the 2nd Defendant either by themselves ,their servants or agents from conducting the burial ,interment ,cremation and in any manner whatsoever dispose of the body or remains of the late Mr. Ken Okoth pending hearing and determination…’’ the injunction reads in part.
According to Thumbi she was excluded from the burial arrangements together with her son.
Meanwhile wiper leader Kalonzo has has faulted Thumbi for not respecting Ken.
‘‘What’s the rush to the court for? …can we solve this thing amicably as a family then we give Ken descent send off.. court cases and we want to go to Homabay is disgracing Ken’s integrity I don’t support the judiciary plus the applicant on this.’’Kalonzo said.
All eyes are now on court on when the case will be heard and determined or whether the warring parties will agree to settle the matter outside court.
