Okumbi hoping for good results ahead of Friendlies


okumbi2Harambee Stars Head Coach Stanley Okumbi is expecting to see some more of good results as the national team plays against Mozambique in an international friendly this weekend.

“I am confident Stars are going to impose their playing styles on Mozambique and I am positive their will produce a good result at the end of the match”.

Kenya has drawn four of their six last matches and won two with the last being a win over Congo Brazaville in October.

“We have had a good training the morale is so high and I know that the team is going to deliver”,he adds.

Stars host Mozambique in a match that is slated for Saturday as part of preparations for CECAFA Senior challenge.

Kenya is at 85,ten places ahead of Mozambique in the FIFA rankings.

Okumbi says “my players are good and I would only encourage them to work hard in improving their position in the rankings.”

“So far I have watched players manage the game and how they have put in effort to play good matches and that is exactly what we should expect during the match.”

At the same time Striker Michael Olunga says is keen on scoring should he be handed a start against Mozambique.

Olunga who scored for Kenya beating Cape Verde in the World Cup qualifiers says he understands his role so well and would play hard to score as he represents the country.

“My job in the team is to score and I believe if handed a start I will represent my country well”.
