Kenya Professional Boxing Commission Chairman Reuben Ndolo, in his recent interview, has said that Kenyan boxer Rayton Okwiri was luckily crowned winner after ten intense rounds against Tanzania’s Ally Ndaro at the boxing extravaganza held over the weekend at the KICC.

Speaking on Ghetto Radio’s Breakfast show Ndolo said that the former Africa Boxing Union champion Rayton ‘Boom Boom’ Okwiri did not go all out against his Tanzanian opponent adding that the former needs to be well prepared for future fights.

Ndolo linked Okwiri’s close win to lack of ample training mentioning that it is about time that Kenyan boxers work towards taking the sport to a whole new level as they make way for the upcoming generation of boxers.

“Okwiri did not give his best, let the truth be told. His performance did not match people’s expectations, he shouldn’t be boasting. It is time for us to revise boxing in Kenya. The future is with us. This time round we will not be joking around,” he said.

Rayton ‘Boom Boom’ Okwiri defeated his Tanzanian opponent Ally Ndaro on points in their 10 rounds middleweight bout at the KICC Ball Room in Nairobi on Sunday morning.

Despite Okwiri’s victory, Ndaro who hails from Arusha gave a good account of himself in the ring.

Both boxers had a balance of power as they slugged off in the fully packed Tsavo Ballroom.

The victory took Okwiri’s records to 11 fights including nine wins 6KOs, a draw and a loss.
