African fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala has a chance to make history as he prepares to win his maiden trophy at the Diamond League in Monaco.

Omanyala has a chance of winning the first Diamond League due to the absence of World 100m Champion Fred Kerley of America.

He is the fastest amongst he’s opponents he has a personal best of 9.77 seconds and seasons best of 9.84.

Omanyala will compete against South African Akani Simbine and Botswana’s Leslie Tobogo on Friday.

Omanyala ceded first place in this year’s Diamond League Standings after Akani Simbine won the Silesia Diamond League on July 16.

Simbine beat the reigning World 100-metre champion, Fred Kerley, with a photo-finish in Poland to register his second successive victory this year.

Omanyala has taken place in three diamond league races in Rabat Morocco, Florence Italy and Paris.

In Rabat Kerley won the race in 9.99 and Omanyala finished third 10.05 on May 28th.

On June 2nd in Italy Omanyala finished second behind Kerley an improvement in previous race.

And last month in France Paris Diamond league held on 9th Omanyala finished second behind Lyle the American who will also miss the Championship.

According to Diamond League history no Kenyan has won the 100 meters race and Omanyala has a Good chance in the absence of the Americans.
