Omanyala To Land In US 2 Hours To His Race

Africa’s fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala will land in the US just two hours to the kick off of The Oregon Championships.

The 26 year old sprinter had earlier on expressed fear of missing his race following the delay of his visa.

He had taken to his social media page to express his worries over the delayed visa,“Sad that I haven’t traveled to Oregon yet and 100 M is in 2 days. Visa delays!!!”

He however got his visa at around midday and is set to leave for the US at 6pm.

In a recent interview, Omanyala said he believes he is faster than the now-retired multiple Olympic Gold medalist even though he is aiming to beat his world record.

“Sahii ni noma ali retire haniwezi right now we are targeting his world record (9.58 seconds) but my target is to clock 9.6 seconds then 9.5 seconds eventually and we drawing closer to the Olympic record which is 9.63 seconds,” said Omanyala.

Omanyala is not the only Kenyan who has recently complained over delayed Visa.

Boy band Sauti Sol were recently forced to cancel a few of their shows in Europe due to the same issue of delayed Visas and they explained  that the visa application process had been affected greatly by the ongoing Ukraine War, hence the reason why they could not make it for their various Europe tour dates.
