Operations Paralysed AT KNH As Workers Down Tools
Operations at Kenyatta National Hospital has been disrupted following a strike by the staff members who are agitating for salary increment.
The staff members who include doctors, nurses and other unionisable employees began their strike today at exactly mid night.
Under the union Kenya Union of Domestic Hotels Educational Institution Hospital And Allied workers (KUDHEIHA) paralysed activities at the referral hospital with the strike.
KUDHEIHA Secretary General Albert Njeru accused the hospital of failing to honour salary increment of the employees as passed by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.
A report from the hospital says that many outpatient hospitals failed to turn up for treatment while those admitted continued to suffer.
