It is sad that Bernard Ndege lost 11 members of his family during the POst Election Violence.
All his nine children and two wives were burnt in a house in Naivasha when chaos hit the area. But as Kenyans feel sorry for his loss, they have taken issue with the misrepresentation of facts by CORD stating that loss of skin pigment on Ndege’s body was as a result of burns he suffered when his house was burnt down.
CORD Leader Raila Odinga’s close ally and Siaya Senator James Orengo has come under sharp criticism for allegedly parading Ndege as a victim who suffered severe burns as opposed to losing his family on the Saturday Rally.
Kenyans On Twitter under the hashtag #ShameOnOrengo castigated Orengo for parading a man with a skin condition known as vitiligo as a PEV victim.
“Why did he have to use this Vitiligo man to mock PEV victims when clearly he wasn’t a victim?” @Muhahami wrote.
“Its a shame to see a “mature” person parade a person with a skin condition and insinuate it was burns.” said @Jwaigi.
CORD on Saturday held a parallel prayer rally in Kibera in support of the PEV Victims.
Vitiligo is a condition in which the pigment is lost from areas of the skin, causing whitish patches, often with no clear cause.
