Anti-corruption court has acquitted Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi in fake certificates case

In ruling delivered by Magistrate Felix Kombo, the court ruled that the state failed to establish a strong case against Sudi to warrant him being placed on his defense.

The magistrate said failure to produce and prove the documents means the charge can’t stand

He also faulted the investigating agencies over how they obtained part of the evidence.

Part of the evidence that formed part of the case was said to have been obtained in a hotel which the magistrate said raised issues of credibility.
Fourteen state witnesses testified in case.
The court faulted the credibility of the interrogation EACC conducted in a city hotel, citing that interrogation ought to have been conducted at the EACC offices
