A section of youth in Nairobi’s Kariobangi South have raised an alarm over the rampant deaths of youths killed by consumption of illegal brews in the area.
Ayub Simba a youth leader in the area says that at least four youths have passed away in Kariobangi South due to excessive alcohol consumption.
This is after a recent case were one youth whose name was left anonymous was found dead on his bed after a night of drinking.
“We can’t blame them for the rate at which Wines and Spirit shops selling affordable alcohol are present is high than places selling affordable food,” said Simba.
Simba claims that there are many wines and spirits shops than food joints in the area.
“Alcohol is not illegal but the county government should give licenses to those who have will sell alcohol wisely and consider those who are buyers whether they are in good shape to take alcohol or not,” he said.
