A section of Eastleigh residents now want the construction of a certain building in Eastleigh to stop after the alleged death of four construction workers.

The residents claim that the building which is three storey has so far killed four people since the begininning of its construction.

Eliud Musyoka a resident of the area says that the fourth person reportedly slipped and fell on Tuesday.

“So far three people killed, after accidents, the first person died from an accident here, the second person reportedly drowned in a water tank here, the third person was electrocuted and now this fourth person slipped and fell.”

“We want construction of this building to immediately stop because you cannot go on with construction and people are dying in your presence,” said Muyoka.

Unskilled foreign workers

According to Musyoka the deceased was a foreigner who was working as an unskilled employee.

“When this guy fell, they did nothing. They did not even bother to take him to the hospital they were just dillydallying,” he stated.

The construction of the building has been going on despite the National Construction Authority earmarking it as an unsafe building.

The deaths have further left residents question the safety of the workers at the site.

Majority of the workers at the site are reportedly from Uganda and Congo.
