Outcry As Student Is Detained For Five Days After Clearing K.C.S.E

detainedA form four student’s parent is appealing to the Ministry of Education and the police to help her obtain the release of her son who has been unlawfully detained in the school over a broken TV.

Beatrice Muthingu says her son Moses Mbugua and two other students who cleared their KCSE exams on Monday is being detained at Kiini Secondary school under very harsh conditions.

Muthingu says the school’s head teacher would not release her son until they pay 20,000 shillings each over the broken TV.

The deputy headteacher could not be reached for comment.
