Over 100 Nairobi Assembly Staff Members Locked Out For Reporting to Job Late

By Allan Otieno

A section Nairobi county Assembly has today been turned away for reporting late following a directive that was issued by new Clerk Edward Gichana.
Over one hundred staff members were denied entry including directors, bodyguards , clerks attached to assembly leaders, seargent at arms, personal assistants to MCAs among others.

“Yes we have been denied entry I was there at 9 am but the instruction at the gate is that no staff should enter the assembly past 8.15 am,” affected staff told Ghetto Radio News.

“Gichana should have just slashed our salaries..locking us out is not something that we shall take lightly with him ..Ngwele was here and such never happened.” Another staff lamented bitterly.

Soft spoken Clerk Gichana is a man of his words and this could be a clear indicator it will not be business as usual at the assembly.
