Over 300 families in Starehe to lose homes in set demolition
More than 300 families are set to lose their homes in Starehe area in a demolition exercise set to take place.
The demolitions are set to take place in a bid to pave way for the Phase two of the Affordable Housing Programme.
On Monday Kenya Power had disconnected electricity from the houses in a bid to hasten their move.
The residents are however crying foul saying that the decision to evict them has shocked them.
According to the residents, they had an agreement with the government to have the demolitions happen next year in March after their children had sat for KCSCE and KCPE.
In 2014, the tenants had sued to stop their eviction from but their suit was thrown out by Justice Mativo in 2018.
