Parents ask Government to allow 2020 candidates back in schools to prepare for exams

A section of parents are calling on the government to put in place measures that will allow the 2020 candidates to prepare for their national exams.

This comes just a day after Education CS George Magoha announced that there are no plans to postpone the national exams.

In a press briefing on Sunday, Prof. Magoha said students are undergoing online learning, adding that the Education Ministry has not considered postponing this year’s KCPE or KCSE exams.

“Up to this moment, nobody has thought of postponing the KCPE and KCSE exams and to the best of the government’s ability the children are getting online learning, I’m aware that parents are very apprehensive but they should be fair with themselves because the government has not pronounced itself that the exam will be postponed.” He said

Speaking to Ghetto radio news, the parents lauded Magoha’s decision not to postpone the national examinations but noted that the students still need to prepare thoroughly for the exams.

“If at all they should do the exams, they should not delay the preparations. They should be tested before they get in the classrooms every day then they can be able to get in and prepare and even to do exams.” Said one of the parents

Meanwhile, a few candidates who spoke to Ghetto Radio said that they are prepared for the exams and are just waiting to go back to school when the time comes.
