Parents Demand Construction of Perimeter Wall On Ngara East Nursery Over Security Threats
Parents at Ngara East Nursery School are now calling on County government of Nairobi to build a perimeter wall around the school for security purposes saying their children are not secured.
Speaking to Ghetto Radio News Eunice Wambui a parent says the school’s fence has been laying bare without security personnel at the main gate exposing their children.
‘‘This is a serious matter that should be addressed immediately by the county because our children are exposed to kidnappers and all sorts of harm out there…we have seen so many county learning facilities with tall perimeter walls we are wondering what is happening at Ngara East Nursery School.’’ She told Ghetto Radio News.
‘‘As parents we have written to the county through the school but unfortunately this matter has not been addressed …we are now calling upon the County Executive Committee for Education Janet Muthoni Ouko to listen to our plea and have perimeter erected in this school soonest,’’ she added.
In the year 2014 Ngara Member of County Assembly Chege Mwaura wrote to then County Executive Committee for Education Christopher Khaemba requesting for the construction of the perimeter wall in the institution but seven years later nothing has been done.
‘‘Following a meeting I held with the school head, I requested a development proposal to help plan how to improve the institution to a modern City County pre-school…it is upon this background that I am humbly requesting for a perimeter wall as first step in developing the pre-school .This perimeter wall project will ensure security and become the basis of all other projects that shall follow,’’ Mwaura’s letter dated 06-01-2014 reads.
‘’It’s also insightful to note that this is the only county pre-school in the ward that serves a population of close to 70,000 households,”it continues.
Meanwhile our efforts to reach Education CEC Janet Ouko still remain futile.
