Parents told to help their children recover from Covid-19 effects
As country celebrates World Peace Day parents and community members have been asked to be close to their children and help the new normal brought about by the coronavirus pandemic.
Speaking in Dandora Mary Wanjiru of National Commission For UNESCO says the children’s peace has been greatly interfered with by the pandemic and its high time the community helped them from the adverse effects of Coronavirus.
‘‘It is evident that children have been widely affected by Covid-19 by being out school for along time. The pandemic has also exposed them to various dangers such early pregnancy and even gender based violence hence there is need to protect them,’’ she said.
National Commission For UNESCO has also had discussions with parents and children on the way forward as children near school re-opening.
