Pay Us Our Huduma Namba Arrears, Youths Cry
A section of youth from Kiambu who worked during the Huduma Namba registration are demanding payment for the services they rendered the government.
Speaking to Ghetto Radio News, the youth claim that the government has only paid them Sh. 34,000 out of the Sh. 54,000 they were supposed to be given.
They claim that even the Sh. 34,000 that they were paid they were given in two installments.
“The whole amount of money was supposed to be wired in our accounts 14 days after the completion of the job. Unfortunately, this was not honoured,” they lamented.
The youth claim that their efforts to follow up on the arrears with their team leaders and supervisors have been futile.
They are now questioning the government’s genuineness in empowering the youth while at the same time failing to pay them their dues.
“Someone help me understand how the government is empowering the youth yet the officers who worked for huduma namba have not been paid and the MPs are demanding salary increment,” stated another.
