Persons With Disability Demand For Social Inclusion


A handicapped child at school in SenegalPersons with disability are now asking for social Inclusion for children and youths  with mental disabilities to help curb marginilasation.

Lynette Ongera of Kenya Institute of Special Education (KISE) says ,  persons with mental disability have been  denied their human rights  such as access to education ,health services ,employment and rehabilitation.

Ongera  noted that the constitution of Kenya recognises the needs of persons with mental disabilities adding that there are laws and polices that protects them.

She further explained that all schools should become responsible to learners needs by influencing the change of attitudes towards persons with mental disabilities.
