The Ministry of Lands has revealed that the third phase of titling for Embakasi Ranching Company is set to happen.
Ministry of Lands Permanent Secretary Dr. Nicholas Muraguri says that currently they are in the process of verifying documents presented by individuals.
Muraguri says that every individual with genuine documents will rightfully receive their title deeds.
“This is going to be the final phase of the titling process. What we are doing right now is signing leases this means that an individual comes with his or her documents, IDs and certificates to show that you are a registered member. After signing leases, the title deed will come out,” said Muraguri.
The Ministry has so far issued 3,000 title deeds in both the first and the second phase of the titling process.
According to Muraguri they are currently trying to solve a total of 2000 disputes that have emerged from the titling process.
“Some of the issues are succession issues. Maybe somebody died or a piece of land was left to a son and the mother is disputing while some are double allocations” said Muraguri.
He has also stated that they will unlock the title deeds that had been already issued to enable individuals conduct business with them.
