Police in Nairobi’s Kayole area on Wednesday arrested several suspects believed to be selling weed cookies and cocaine.
The suspects were arrested after the police raided a hotel in Kayole’s Masimba area.
During the raid, police nabbed several rolls of bhang, weed cookies stashed in polythene bags and cocaine.
Kayole OCPD Henry Kosgey says that the hotel has been operating under the guise of selling normal food but is apparently operating a weed and cocaine cartel in Kayole.
Kosgey stated that drug dealers in Kayole have morphed and are devising new ways of peddling drugs and luring new customers.
“This is well prepared and cooked cannabis sativa, see how technology has improves, see how now bhang is being prepared,” said Kosgey holding a pack of weed cookies.
“If you see the guys we have detained, they are lost, they look like zombies because of these drugs,” he added.
Kosgey further cautioned area residents against consuming drugs stating that the law will catch up with them.
Embakasi Central MP Benjamin Gathiru urged area residents to report drug dealers in the area in order to secure the community.
“Please let’s make community policing our jobs, i know many will be threatened but i am ready to defend this community with your help,” stated Gathiru.
